WIZKID AND SKALES

Am using this picture to remind Wizkid and Skales of the good old days. I have been following the Wizkid and Skales twitter fight and I feel really sad not just because it involves two very talented artist that I love but because it is damaging to the industry and not a good example to the younger generation who look up to them. We all started from somewhere, even the so called silver spoon kids struggle for relevance. With all the money Davido's father has, we never knew him until he personally showed us what his gat thru his music and we love him now not cos of his father but cos of his talent.
Wizkid and Skales have been pals, each have written songs for the other and are both successful now. Banky W took them and made them what they are today, even if they have broken away to have their separate careers independently the fact still remains that no successful person made it alone, you will always need someone.
Humility and loyalty are key factors of success. Young talented Nigerians should use their talent to project themselves and not verbal abuse. That won't take you anywhere no matter how good you are.
Banky never took to twitter to crucify Wizkid when he left the label. I am happy that Wizkid has
made it and now hangs out with the likes of Chris Brown but even Breezy has had his fair share of scandals that slowed his career down at some point. I will want to use my office to promote some of this young stars but with the childish nature of fight I see in the industry, how am I going to convince Mr. President for instance that they are responsible enough to perform for him. Please please let's calm down cos no condition is permanent. We here today tomorrow we are not. That's life.

This is a follow-up to my Love your Neighbour as yourself story. Read it if you haven't done so for clarity.

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF

I will be telling stories on this blog more in pictures cos pictures don't lie. However in this write-up I won't share the picture of the individual for personal reasons and respect for privacy. Hear my story, it will help in how we deal with each other and stop the hating.
The Wizkid and Skales twitter fight inspired me to share my story.
I applied for an American visa for a young talented Nigerian to travel with me to New York next week to attend the UN International Women's day from 11th-12th March 2015. I personally went together with this young Nigerian to the American embassy because I also had to renew my US visa. We were both successful. To God be the glory. My joy knew no bounds because before I left my house for the embassy I prayed and asked God to show me his mercy and prove to this person that I serve a living God. He was skeptical but I was not. In a bid to ensure there was no mistake in his documentation I forgot my own documents, got to the embassy and had to drive back to pick up my documents by myself. I enjoyed the drive thou cos I haven't been driving lately and it was fun to be behind the wheels after a long time of been driven around. I told my protégée to stay back and go in for his interview if called while I rush back to pick up my documents. I was not bothered for myself but was more concerned for him because mine was a renewal. To my surprise he refused to go into the embassy until I came back and off we went into the premises of the embassy of God's own country where the fear of your interviewee is the beginning of wisdom but here is the trick. You must go prepared and be confident. Show them you love your country Nigeria and nothing can make you stay back in the US and you will get your visa. That simple.
Anyway we got in, I was called first, my interview was very brief and renewal granted. Then my newly discovered talent was called, I was evesdropping on the discussions that were going on with his interview and enjoying myself cos he wasn't doing badly, suddenly the lady who interviewed me called my attention and gave me my visa collection paper. I had to go outside and wait for my talented Nigerian to come out. Come out he did with his visa collection paper and I jumped up and praised God.
Why do we continue to fight ourselves when together we can achieve a lot more. Skales is talented, Wizkid is talented both started from humble beginnings and were on the same record label. Why the hating. I will be expecting a collabo from the two of them while I take my talented young Nigerian to New York.
God knows why he said 'Love Your Neighbour as Yourself" because it is only in unity that we can progress. Nobody has the monopoly of talent, new talents and future leaders are born everyday.
Maximize your potential and make a difference in another persons life without making noise about it cos WHO KNOWS TOMORROW. There is wealth at the bottom of the pyramid.
One love!!!

THE SIMPLE LIFES OF REAL BILLIONAIRES: SIR. RICHARD BRANSON

Sir Richard Branson was left in charge of his baby grandchildren on Friday, and it's no surprise that the billionaire wanted to treat them.
The Virgin founder was spotted in Notting Hill pushing a double pram carrying the twin babies of his daughter Holly Branson.
He stopped by the Petit Bateau store to put his well-earned money to good use and buy some things for his first pair of grandchildren.

EXPANSION OF THE TECHNICAL WORKING GROUP ON YOUTH EMPLOYMENT WITH UK DFID'S NSRP AND FEPAR

A team from the Federal Public Administration Reform Programme Nigeria (FEPAR), the Nigerian Stability and Reconciliation Programme and Ambassador Josephine Washima (SA job creation)

The office of the Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation is supported by the UK DFID through their above mentioned programmes funded by Dfid. A Technical Working Group (TWG) made up of relevant job creation MDAs has been constituted. The 1st TWG meeting was held on 28th September 2014 at the Transcorp Hotel Abuja. This group will provide technical support to the PJB and introduce more effective M&E tools for job creation and submit their report to the PJB.

On 19th January 2015 the OSAPJC/NSRP organised a conflict sensitivity seminar in Kaduna State where all members of the TWG were represented and trained in understanding the importance of conflict analysis especially in an election year. The group was educated on the difference between positive conflict and negative conflict.

Unequal distribution of wealth and lack of transparency in the implementation of youth employment schemes was identified as a key contribution to violent conflicts in Nigeria and solutions proffered.

The above tripartite meeting held yesterday 20th February 2015 at the OSAPJC.

THE PRESIDENTIAL JOBS BOARD (PJB)

The presidential jobs board held its second meeting on 18th February 2015 at the State House Aso-Villa Abuja, where discussions were focused on the most effective ways of meeting the boards target of creating at least 2million jobs consistently and proper monitoring of job creation initiatives either to create synergy or improve their performance.
The Draft Nigerian jobs bill was presented and adopted to institutionalize President Goodluck Jonathan's job creation policies. The President will be presenting the bill to the National assembly asap to establish and legalize job creation programs for sustainability.

The Presidency approved the National Job Centers and the Nigerian Job Exchange (www.nje.gov.ng) as structures that will help provide the much needed workforce database for more coordinated recruitment, the provision of requisite skills training for job seekers and employers alike in Nigeria.

Employment tax incentives where also introduced. President Goodluck Jonathan introduced this incentives in 2010 to encourage hiring of Nigerians and it was shocking to know that most employers are not aware of the existence of such incentives.

Employers are however expected to hire from the Nigerian Jobs Exchange Aka NJE or the National Job Centers to qualify for accessing the incentives. What this also means that all those registered on the NJE are trackable and a background check carried out on them to ensure their authenticity and credibility.

50% of government CAP EX will be tied to ratio of jobs created.

The National Job Centers and Exchange will be unveiled 2nd week in March 2015 by HE President Goodluck Jonathan himself.
